Welcome, introduction to the Young Bus Managers Network and Conference 2011

10.00 am – Gillian Merron, Chair, Bus Users UK

In one of her first official engagements in her new role, Gillian took a look at what constitutes a great bus service, from the customers’ viewpoint

11.00 am – Giles Fearnley, Managing Director, First UK Bus

An experienced and respected member of our industry, Giles spoke as the head of the biggest bus company in Britain and tells us how we can meet the demands of our customers

12 midday – lunch

1.00 pm – Alex Warner, Regional Operations Director, Royal Mail

Noted Customer Service Champion and former Managing Director of Greyhound UK, Alex has an infectious enthusiasm for how customer service can deliver for the business and its passengers - which he certainly put across in memorable style!

2.00 pm – Workshop with James Freeman, CEO Reading Transport

A firm believer in people power in our businesses, James brought the conference together for a debate and discussion on key topics from the day's events

3.30 pm – closing remarks from Roger French
